OMG… this is the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen. Mariel… my friends and I were going as Gilly, the Surprise lady and the Target lady. We talked about Junice and Penelope, but thought Junice was too difficult and Penelope too easy. I didn’t end up getting to go out on Halloween, but my friend Lia was Gilly and it was apparently hilarious. WELL DONE MARIEL. In case you care, you just won my vote for best costume 2009.
And my second Halloween costume…unless you’re a pretty religious SNL watcher, you probably won’t get it…

Remember how my GPOYW yesterday was in honor of my BFF? Well, I’m a pretty awesome myself, and sent her macaroons and homemade marshmallows from Sucre in New Orleans, which is apparently the best in the business. I sent her a text making sure she took pics for my blog (so I can get credit, duh) but mostly so I could share about Sucre with the world. (Oprah did it first, but whatevs). She had already taken care of half the box by the time she got the text.

I’ve loved Rihanna since before she was huge. I’m convinced we’d be best friends in real life if we ever met. This literally hurts my heart, and makes me so proud of her at the same time. Watch it.
Although I rent my apartment in Brooklyn, I do not have a home. My parents are still my home. I am part of a vast generation of people who perpetually live as if they just graduated from college. I am 38. I wear a backpack and I have no savings. I console myself with the thought that people live longer now, so it makes sense that some of us may take longer to mature.
